By using ShareFile, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before using our service.
Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of the ShareFile application operated by NK Software Pvt. Ltd. (“ShareFile”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Description of Service
ShareFile is a web-based application that enables users to transfer files directly between devices (peer-to-peer) over the internet using WebRTC technology. The service facilitates peer-to-peer file transfers without storing file contents on our servers. Both devices need only a modern browser — no local network required.
Payments, Subscriptions & Merchant of Record
Paid plans (Pro and Enterprise) are billed and processed by our reseller, Paddle.com Market Ltd and its applicable affiliates (“Paddle”), who act as the Merchant of Record for all purchases made through ShareFile. This means Paddle is the seller of record on your receipt or invoice, collects payment and any applicable sales tax or VAT, and is your primary point of contact for billing questions, invoices, and payment disputes.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the billing period you selected (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account’s Manage Billing page; cancelling stops future renewals but does not itself refund the current billing period — see our Refund Policy below. Prices, accepted payment methods, currency conversion, and related purchase terms are additionally governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms.
Refund Policy
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on new Pro and Enterprise subscriptions and on subscription renewal charges. If you’re not satisfied, contact us at hello@share-files.xyz within 14 days of the charge and we’ll issue a full refund, processed by Paddle back to your original payment method.
Outside this 14-day window, charges are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. Cancelling a subscription stops future billing but does not refund the current period already paid for, and refunds for annual plans cancelled partway through the year are not prorated beyond the initial 14-day window.
Refund requests are reviewed by us and, where approved, processed by Paddle as our Merchant of Record. Paddle’s own buyer protection terms may also apply — see Paddle’s Buyer Terms.
Acceptable Use Policy
Permitted Uses
You may use ShareFile to:
- Transfer files between your own devices
- Share files with anyone, anywhere, over the internet
- Transfer personal documents, photos, and media
- Share work-related files in professional environments
Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use ShareFile to:
- Share copyrighted material without proper authorization
- Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful software
- Share illegal content or content that violates any applicable laws
- Harass, abuse, or harm others
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise the service
- Violate any intellectual property rights
User Responsibilities
As a user of ShareFile, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring you have the right to share any files you transfer
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
- Protecting your devices and network security
- Using the service in a responsible manner
- Not interfering with other users' use of the service
Privacy and Data
Our privacy practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy. Key points: we do not store or access your files, file transfers are direct between your devices, we collect minimal technical data for service operation, and you retain full ownership of all files you transfer.
Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with all devices or networks, or successful completion of all file transfers. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time.
Intellectual Property
The ShareFile application, including its design, code, and documentation, is our intellectual property. Users retain all rights to files they transfer through the service.
Disclaimers
ShareFile is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, security of file transfers, and data integrity or file corruption protection.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of data or files during transfers, damages resulting from unauthorized access to your devices, or any damages exceeding $100 USD.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the service at any time for any reason, including violation of these terms. You may stop using the service at any time.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
